Favorite Game Websites: IGN, Destructoid, Kotaku and of course Vagary.tv!

Jason Ericson (singing_pigs)

Jason just answered all these questions and accidentally deleted them. He is raging.

Hometown: Grew up in Redmond, WA (home of Nintendo and Microsoft), currently live in Bellingham, WA (home of really cold frickin rain).

Interests: The video game industry, music, the arts, programming, creating things, being a little crazy.

Favorite Music: Son Lux, Jars of Clay, Mute Math, The Listening, Disappointed By Candy, Anathallo, sigur ros, Punch Brothers. All pretty obscure stuff I know (I swear I don’t do it on purpose).

Favorite TV Shows: Firefly (cancelled), Arrested Development (cancelled), The Office UK (finished), LOST (finished). It’s depressing to be me. At least I still have Castle and Top Gear.

Favorite Books: Harry Potter, All Creatures Great and Small, To Kill a Mockingbird, and…stuff. I don’t read much. 😐

Favorite Quotes: “Life…is like a grapefruit. It’s orange and squishy and has pips in it, and some folks have half a one for breakfast.” – Douglas Adams

One thing unique about yourself: Entered a scriptwriting contest when I was 10 and won a trip to DisneyWorld. Crowning achievement of my life.

Favorite Controller: This is going to sound like I took a sip of Crazy Juice, but the most comfortable I’ve ever been using a controller is with the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Seriously. Now if only there were good games to go with it…

Favorite Genre: Either epic, sprawling adventures or small, innovative indie games. I’m also a giant fan of local multiplayer (a dying art…*sniff*…).

Favorite Game in that Genre: Shadow of the Colossus, Braid, and Super Bomberman 2 (respectively).

Coolest Weapon in Game: The gravity gun from Half-Life 2.

Cutest Videogame Character: Sackboy!

Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft? Sony. Not because they make the best hardware or games or anything, but because they’re the publisher I’d want to work for if I had my own game company.

Favorite Game Soundtrack: Beyond Good & Evil. Most video game soundtracks sound kinda same-y to me, but this one is something truly unique and beautiful. Listen listen listen! http://www.myspace.com/hyllianmusic

Favorite Game Websites: Kotaku, IGN, GiantBomb and the Indie Games blog. (And of course Vagary.TV. What kind of a jerk do you think I am?)

Tony Zuniga (Boots_33)

Hide yo burritos, hide yo spaghetti...

Hide yo burritos, hide yo spaghetti…

Hometown: Born and raised and stuck in St. Paul, MN. It gets cold here and it snows, but we play hockey all year ’round and I like it.

Interests: Video games, hockey (as previously mentioned), podcasting, music, pasta, and burritos.

Favorite Music: Dream Theater, Metallica, Pantera, Kool and the Gang, popular 80s Glam Metal, Michael Jackson, Avenged Sevenfold, Amanda Palmer, and a lot of 70s funk.

Favorite TV Shows: Dexter, Parks and Recreation, Attack of the Show (before Kevin Pereira left), New Girl, Nikita, Community.

Favorite Books: Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Odd Thomas, Fahrenheit 451, A Yellow Raft in Blue Water, Have a Nice Day (Mick Foley bio).

Favorite Quotes: “To search for the gold at the end of a rainbow is to miss the beauty of the rainbow, itself” – Unknown

One thing unique about yourself: My nickname stems from not being able to ice skate. I’ve played goaltender in hockey since I was 15 and never learned the skill. In 2000, the group we played with began referring to me as “Boots” and it stuck.

Favorite Controller: Of all the ones I’ve used, I have to go with the Xbox 360 controller for the most part. However, I’ve lately been using an old-school PlayStation controller without the thumbsticks and it’s been kinda nice.

Favorite Genre: Action/Adventure tickles my nether regions. Games like Metal Gear, the GTA series, and the Batman Arkhams are my jam, yo.

Favorite Game in that Genre: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Saints Row: The Third, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (apparently, I love games with colons).

Top 3 Favorite Good Guys: Solid/Naked Snake, Samus Aran (discounting Metroid: Other M’s version), Batman.

Top 3 Favorite Bad Guys: Kefka, Revolver Ocelot, Officer Tenpenny.

Game you put the most hours into: Hard to say. Probably Fallout 3 which ended up at around 270 hours. I know Jason is excited.

Most Emotional Experience: The ending to Metal Gear Solid 3. When everything was explained and I found out what the main antagonist’s motivations were, I couldn’t hold the tears in… and neither could Snake.

Coolest Weapon in Game: The portal gun is nice, and some of the Ratchet and Clank weapons are cool, but I have a serious affinity for the Spread/Shot Gun in classic NES Contra.

Cutest Videogame Character: The Prince in Katamari Damacy.

Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft? Hmm… As much as Sony has stumbled as of late, I still think they’re doing the best job of trying to make better and more varied exclusives. Combine that with the promise of good things with the PS4 and I have to say I’d pick them if forced to stick with only one.

Favorite Game Soundtrack: I flip-flop between Final Fantasy VI and VIII. Each one of these games has memorable themes that are sprinkled throughout the entire works and featured awesome original compositions as well.

Favorite Game Websites: GiantBomb, Polygon, Rev3Games (youtube channel), and of course, Vagary.tv.
